About Us

Founded in 1972, Valley Pacific Construction has been a premier earthwork and utility contractor in the Pacific Northwest for over 50 years.

Our company was founded by Russ and Margaret Ghiglia. Prior to our company founding Russ enjoyed a successful career as a construction superintendent for a large bay area contractor in California. Russ and Margaret moved to Oregon in 1970, and opened for business after getting settled.

Beginning with a single partner and only a couple pieces of equipment Valley Pacific saw slow steady growth over the next few years. In 1977 after graduating high school Russ’s son John began working for the company full time. .  Over the next few years John steadily moved up in the company until becoming president in 1990. Russ Remained CEO and Chairmain until his passing in January of 2023.

From the humble beginnings of only a couple of employees and a few peices of older equipment we saw our company grow to over 50 employees and over 100 pieces of heavy equipment through the 1990’s and heading into the new millennium.

In the early 2000’s John’s sons Adam and Andrew joined the company and moved up from general labor to settling in management positions overseeing the company.

John managed all field operations of Valley Pacific until passing away in 2018. In his memory his sons Adam Ghiglia and Andrew Ghiglia serve as President and Vice President oversees the companies daily operations today.

We are proud of our family heritage and our reputation as knowledgeable, experienced contractor. We have built our business primarily through repeat business, and have enjoyed working with several of our largest customers for decades. Throughout our history we have stood behind our work and invested in maintaining our relationships.

As technology has increased, so have our capabilities. Thanks to investing the latest equipment today we enjoy the benefits of automated GPS equipment, increasing accuracy and efficiency on all projects.

As we look foward to the future we are excited to enter our 3rd generation of growth, expereice, and progress heading into the next 50 years and beyond!

RECYCLING & SAFETY

We are always looking for ways we can recycle on our projects. We have completed many demolition projects with high recycle rates on lumber, steel, shingles, and piping. We have also used recycled concrete and asphalt as new road and building base.

We have a great safety record that we work hard to maintain. Weekly safety meetings are requirement on all our job sites, and every job site has a competent person who is safety trained. Strict OSHA guidelines are followed during every portion of our work.

“They coordinated very well with the other subcontractors and were a huge contribution towards making it a successful project.”
